Where suppliers get stuck

Five problems, and the rung that fixes each.

Each row maps to one engagement, so you only buy what the problem needs.

Challenge
A customer security questionnaire with a renewal deadline
Response
Controls documented and evidenced, answers drafted from what is actually in place, and gaps closed in priority order.
Rung
Health Check
Challenge
One person holds the quoting, scheduling or integration logic
Response
Systems, processes and access written down, a second person able to run them, and the risk scored before it becomes an outage.
Rung
Health Check
Challenge
Shop floor, ERP, accounting and CRM reconciled by hand
Response
Integrations scoped, sequenced and costed, with the vendor chosen against requirements rather than demos.
Rung
Fractional CTO
Challenge
A sale or succession on the horizon
Response
Technology diligence run on yourself first, so findings are fixed or disclosed on your terms rather than a buyer's.
Rung
CTO on Tap
Challenge
Every adviser is also quoting on the fix
Response
An independent review of vendor proposals and quotes, from someone who sells no software.

Spending that follows a plan

A costed, sequenced roadmap, so decisions come before the sales call.

Most of the companies that supply Canada's mines are owner-run industrials: fabricators, machine shops, equipment builders and contractors, 20 to 200 people. They sell into customers far larger than themselves, and that asymmetry is where technology stops being an IT problem and becomes a commercial one.

A major asks for a security questionnaire before renewing a contract. A buyer asks who understands the quoting system before closing. A plant manager asks why two systems are still reconciled by hand. Each of those lands on an owner who has no CTO, and whose available advice comes from people selling the fix.

None of these are mining problems as such. They are the problems of a capable, owner-run business selling to customers with far more process than it has, and they respond to the same discipline anywhere: find out what is actually there, write it down, and fix what matters in the order it matters.

That is the work Reyem Tech does. We have not worked inside a mine and do not claim to; your team knows the operation. We bring senior technology leadership, an independent view of the vendors quoting on the fix, and a written plan someone is accountable for delivering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have mining industry experience?

No. Reyem Tech has not yet worked for a mine or a mining supplier, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. The problems on this page, customer security questionnaires, key-person risk, disconnected systems and diligence, are common to owner-run businesses that sell to much larger customers, and that is the work we do. Where a question turns on how your operation runs, your team remains the expert; our job is the technology around it.

What does a customer security questionnaire usually cover?

Access control, data protection, backup and recovery, incident response, vendor management and staff practices are typical. The hard part is rarely the questions themselves. It is having written evidence behind each answer. A Technology Health Check shows which answers you can already support and which need work first.

Can Ontario funding help pay for this?

Possibly. Reyem Tech is an OCI-approved Digital Adoption Consultant. Eligible Ontario businesses can have a Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan cost-shared up to $15,000, and a completed plan can unlock up to $100,000 toward implementation. Eligibility depends on the program's criteria when you apply, so we confirm it with you before any work starts.

How does an engagement start?

Most start with the Technology Health Check: a fixed-price, two-week review that produces a health score across nine risk dimensions, a prioritized risk register and a 90-day roadmap. You keep the report whether or not you continue with us.

Do you sell or resell software?

No. We sell no software and take no fee on what we recommend, so advice to keep your current vendor, or not to build at all, costs us nothing to give.
